sea of mud, sidoarjo |
Our flight took off from Senai, Johor Bahru at the dawn, 1 Dec 2008. After flying for almost 2 hours we landed at Juanda Airport, Surabaya. We were 17 persons, a small and funny group. The warmth started touches our skin; yes, the temperature in Surabaya was sweltering as usual. After meeting service with leader and had a break for tea & coffee, we went directly to Tanggulangin village, special home industry leather craft production (hand bag, wallet, suitcase, jacket, etc). At the halfway to, we stopped over in Sidoarjo to see the sea of mud that had been wrecking some of villages, industries, railway, highway and other infrastructures. After lunch, we went through to Taman Safari Pandaan to see alive the wildlife at their habitat more closely; and then overnight at Tretes.
After breakfast, our trip was continued to Surabaya for visiting House of Sampoerna industrial unit, where the cigarette produces manually (hand-made). Enjoyable for taking some pictures how the cigarette made and beautiful staff of Sampoerna worked, we continued to Pasar Genteng, the center of Indonesian’s snacks (cassava/potato cracker, shrimp cracker/krupuk, etc). At the evening, we finalized our trip for that day with visiting Mirota Shops, the center of souvenirs, t-shirt, batik, etc and then checked in at the Sahid Hotel, Surabaya for 2 nights.
